Plains Collective Meeting at the Ferguson

by | Nov 13, 2025 | Past Events

The First Plains Collective/Friends of the Ferguson Home was held Nov. 13, 2025 at the Ferguson Home. Gordon Yellowman, Director of Language and Culture Programs at the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes and Dee Cordry were featured speakers. The occasion was hosted by Albert Old Crow and Roy Espy. Ramona Tallbear provided samples of native-American foods and Janine Espy desserts.

Special guests were the Roman Nose Brothers. Chief Larry Roman Nose and brothers Melvin and Quinton were on hand. A special presentation was made to Mike Benway. Years ago, he made a deal for an engraved belt. It was finally delivered, and the quality made it worth the wait.

Gordan Yellowman is currently (Jan. 2026) curating a showing of Ledger Art at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City https://nationalcowboymuseum.org/exhibitions/cheyenne-ledger-art/
